In fact, it will not just only be 'today' but rather a few days! Because this dish is something that should taste even better and richer after a longer period soaked in the special homemade sauce. See that tupperware? That's where we store it, readily available whenever we need any side dishes to our meals.
So what was added? Cucumber slices, carrot slices, onion strips and sesame (white and black).
The sauce that the ingredients are drenched in is another massive amazing feature of this! It has simple condiments like sesame oil, soya sauce, sugar, mum's special homemade chilli and etc. HEH HEH SECRET HOMEMADE RECIPE, cannot divulge any further. Just kidding. But yeah the proportion does matter and sometimes it really depends on your gut feeling? Or rather the portion (and maybe how juicy i.e. the water content of the ingredients you add.), so it's prolly hard to give an accurate gauge. :)
But let me tell ya. I am now a huge fan of sesame oil. Sesame oil just works wonders. I am totally in love it. Koreans probably do love sesame oil too, because sesame oil is one common ingredient used frequently in korean cuisine, like japchae, ok almost everything. :) Just a little bit and everything falls perfectly into place and smells heavenly. Almost indescribable.
ACHAR.
That's what we call this. It sounds like a happy cry, like ACHAR I AM HAVING SPICY CUCUMBER SALAD! WATCH ME ACHAR! !!!!!!
It's good even on its own.. But I'd prefer it as a side. :)
(This is like how kimchi is important to korean. Heheh pardon my random references to korean way of life because I've recently been watching lots of kdramas and kpop and stuff.)
Give me a bowl of rice and drizzle some of the sauce over, and couple it with the ingredients of the salad. Perfect. That would be enough.
It is important to eat healthy food this period of time, since I had just gone for a minor dermatology electrocautery surgery procedure. :) Need more intake of foods good for the skin. Sobbles my skin isn't very good. *fights battle with eczema, especially in the hot and humid weather, and allergies do not do any help*
