It's white meal bread so it's healthier. :)
This is one common breakfast set you may get from a kopitiam or any traditional cafe in Singapore. The prices vary too. It can be as low as slightly higher than a dollar and a half or it can be a bit more pricey mmm hehe.
But is it really that(rising intonation) worth it??
It is more worth it for homecooked food.
After eating out for lunch during the five weeks of my internship, I find home-cooked food even more precious. Home-cooked food is healthier, more hygienic, and yeap cheaper. Not that the quality of home-cooked food is compromised as a result! But the prices of outside food is kinda not worth it? Because you know the ingredients do not actually cost that much.. And the dish probably does not take that much an effort to make.. So you are just paying for the rent, the brand, the ambiance? Haha I sound like I am scrimping and saving so much, but I feel that these really make sense. Don't you think so too? :)
It was a hearty breakfast and I enjoyed it. It is easy to make, and but since that statement was according to mum, I may need a bit more effort to do a good job. :) Making half boiled eggs is not that tricky, mum says 5 minutes is perfect!! (so that the eggs will not be too raw or hurhur overcooked.)
I'd seen overcooked half boiled eggs and also tasted them. Haha, it's like eating hard boiled eggs but with a teeny bit of awkwardness (is this even the right word to describe?).
Whenever I have the breakfast set in hall.. Yes I enjoy the breakfast set there because it is $1.70, still quite cheap hehe. The traditional bread is well-toasted with butter and kaya. But but but. The eggs. Huhu there were several occasions where the half boiled eggs were just hard boiled eggs. ): Perhaps for convenience and speed, the aunty cooks the eggs in bulks hence the eggs tend to be overcooked. Thinking about this makes me moody. Imagine you are looking forward to the smooth and runny egg yolks and whites with the sauces but all you get is a ball of yolk, although it's not your fault, the ball of yolk is like mocking you (worst if you get both eggs overcooked)- heh what a great way to start the day! I need to then boast of my half boiled eggs cracking skills, because I often have the breakfast set when I stay in hall, I am the master of cracking the eggs. Just kidding. ;)
Cinnamon!!!! Always giving the extra kick to sweet food. Making it even easier and smoother on the taste buds. It's like the swaying of the members of the orchestra to the music when they are playing. And you are also literally swaying to the happiness of the taste of the food. OK hahaha.
I need to learn how to make yummy french toasts. :D
