Cinnamon Rolls

I remember my previous encounter with a similar dish was at macs when I was younger (I think it was Cinnamon Melts?) Hahaha it wasn't a very pleasant one, probably because I didn't know how to appreciate the stronger flavour of Cinnamon then. Oh well, anyway... *shrugs shoulders*

So it was my first day at internship. Since this isn't the first time I am going to work, I wasn't very nervous. Rather, I was pretty excited for this new and enriching experience. Really thankful for this opportunity so I am going to work hard and do well. :)

Fast forward into the day.

When the first day at work was ending, mum sent me an image attachment. I had turned off my auto-download because nah i want to restrict my data usage. But this image that mum sent, blurred because I haven't downloaded, was calling out to me to download. Nope, it was shouting at me.

IT'S CINNAMON ROLLS. C'MON DOWNLOAD ME.

Mum said "Homemade, cinnamon roll. Waiting for frosting. .... 成功!!!!!!!!!! M 偷吃了两个。Eating 3rd piece." (yeah that's right, lotsa exclamation marks !!!!!! heh heh mum is such a cute lady ah!)

I mean, technology will totally impress me, if one day, I can download food. How wonderful, right?

OK, My mum is really really really passionate about cooking and baking, I am just so extremely proud of her. She's been a housewife because of me (to take care and accompany me!) and I am very grateful for all her sacrifices.

There were people who think housewives aren't very knowledgeable or are of a lower status? Or like they are very free at home, watching television the whole day or shopping; only knowing how to cook? I really beg to differ. It can be quite hurtful to hear, especially if it was coming from someone close to you. Uh well, you can't really control their mouths right because it belongs to them hahaha.

Okay I've probably digressed a little (or is it a lot?!!). But since this is my first post here, take this as an introduction! (: Just feeling a little bit more, because it was my first day at work and I thought having a job and working, then earning money is just part and parcel of life. It doesn't equate that if you are earning an income or even holding a high post at work so you've got the rights to put others down. So a shout out to all housewives out there, slogging hard at home for the family. Good job! I am really proud of you, these silent but great warriors, maintaining the household well, so the family members working can return to homesweethome and have a clean and tidy home with piping hot meals welcoming them. Thank you very much! Love ya, mum!

I couldn't wait to get home from work. Because all I can think of is CINNAMON ROLLS.

enjoy how you describe the fluffiness of the dough after it has risen and doubled in size. It's like a mini surprise. The joys of baking- watching the cinnamon rolls turn golden brown in our trusty oven and how the entire kitchen smells like cinnamon. I can imagine- I can see it, I can feel the heat from the oven, I can smell it. Your description just tells me everything, Mum. I love it. :)

Mum did not drizzle a lot of sugar glaze because we prefer the cinnamon rolls healthier and not-so-sweet. :)

Although we just had our dinner a moment ago, the entire baking tin of cinnamon rolls was emptied in no time. Food really tastes better when eaten with the family. Om nom nom nom. It is chewy, has a sweet smell and flavour, and it is just perfection to savour the classic homemade bread rolls with the rich cinnamon filling.

A great way to end of the first day of internship. :)
